Young Preschool and Preschool

Young preschool

Your child will flourish in an environment that balances play and self discovery with teacher direction and instruction. Young preschoolers are guided in making that important transition from individual play to group play. Creative activities encourage self expression through movement, painting, and dramatic play . Teachers plan guided activities for the children to learn through art projects, blocks, toys and dramatic play. Children learn to cooperate as a group by participating in group time to sing songs, nursery rhymes, and read stories. Weekly lesson plans focus on language and literacy development, early math concepts and gross and fine motor skills.

Our preschool program provides many opportunities for your child to develop their own interest and to learn to work and socialize with others. We believe that preschoolers benifit most when they can explore and pursue activities that they choose on their own. The teachers role is one of facilitating and guiding learning, rather than providing answers or telling children how to use the materials. Activites such as recognition of alphabets, recognition of name and beginning printing skills, beginning reading skills, math concepts arts and crafts, gross and fine motor skills, and problem solving skills are all introduced at this larger level.
